What Engines are Available in the 2019 Acura TLX?
Question: What Engines are Available in the 2019 Acura TLX?
The 2019 Acura TLX features two engine options: a standard 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, and an available 3.5-liter V6 engine. If you want to upgrade to AWD, you will have to also upgrade to the V6 engine, as AWD is not available to be configured with the standard 4-cylinder engine.
The standard 4-cylinder engine boasts 206 horsepower and 182 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, the 2019 TLX has an EPA fuel economy rating of 27 combined MPG (23 city / 33 highway).
When equipped with the available V6 engine, drivers will unlock 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. For front-wheel drive models, the V6 variant is rated at 24 combined MPG (20 city / 32 highway). On all-wheel drive models, the rating only changes slightly to 24 combined MPG (21 city / 30 highway). It should be noted, however, that these numbers will differ for 2019 TLX models equipped with the A-SPEC package.
According to current Acura.com pricing, the MSRP on a standard TLX (4-cylinder engine with front-wheel drive) is $33,000. Upgrading to the V6 engine for the standard model moves the price up to $36,200. And finally, if you want SH-AWD (which requires the V6 engine) the current MSRP is $38,200.
