What Engine Powers the 2019 Acura NSX?
Question: What Engine Powers the 2019 Acura NSX?
You might not believe it by looking at it, but the 2019 Acura NSX is essentially a hybrid. Not the kind that slows down inbound highway traffic, though. It’s the kind of hybrid that uses electric motors to produce additional torque to get fast speeds from a dead stop and make launch mode a thrill to experience.
It starts with the 3.5-liter DOHC V6 twin-turbocharged engine mid-mounted in the NSX. There are then three electric motors that not only add performance to help the 2019 NSX go from 0-60 MPH in 2.7 seconds, but also help add support for the SH-AWD system.
Thanks to the electric motors, you’ll feel an instant release of power in Launch Mode, which Acura reports will “deliver pressed-back-in-your-seat g-force.”
