The 2019 Acura RDX’s True Touchpad Interface is a new take on the touchpad infotainment system you may have used in other luxury vehicles.

While most systems use the touchpad like the mouse on a laptop, the RDX’s touchpad uses “absolute positioning” to allow one-to-one actions on the touchpad correlating with that exact position on the display. For example, a tap of the top left of the touchpad will open an app that may be at the top left of the menu on the display.

The system also adds an all-new Voice Recognition system that allows for natural language to be used the same way many of today’s voice assistants like Apple’s Siri or Amazon’s Alexa do.
